As founder and senior editor of The Transitive Empire, Dennis Báthory-Kitsz has provided insights into high technology for three decades. He authored process software and designed data acquisition hardware for small computers in the 1980s, and he has been writing about automatic identification technologies for 15 years. His more than 600 articles have appeared in general circulation and trade journals, where he explores the implications, successes, failures, and politics of technology in retail, manufacturing, distribution--and daily life. He is known for his insistent questions, technical adeptness, and plain talk. Dennis was among the first to reveal the health concerns of the first generation of portable phones, and his 1980 interview with Bill Gates about software copyright is now considered a classic. He also works with marketing organizations in assisting technology start-ups.
